Homestead Online One of the exemptions, allowed per statute, is the opportunity for a home owner to file for a Homestead Exemption.  To file for the exemption in the past, the home owner was required to bring the necessary documents and visit our office.  In an effort to assist home owners, my staff and I developed an online homestead filing system which allows new property owners the opportunity to go online and file for the exemption at their convenience without having to fight traffic or take off work to visit our office during normal business hours. This program is the first in the state and nation which allows a home owner to file for the exemption and verify the information real time, processing the required information to be transferred to our office automatically; thereby, enabling the exemption to be approved without a visit to the office. When an improved property is purchased, Control and PIN numbers are automatically generated and mailed to the new owner with the required information noted, allowing them access to the online system to start the filing process. Follow this link, https://hx.srcpa.org/HomesteadExemption/Introduction, to enter the online application process. On this page, you will find useful information regarding the documents required to file before you begin, exemptions which are available, dates to file, and an online user manual. To learn more about the exemptions, you can click on the “Exemptions” tab in the left banner on this page or go to the main website,  www.srcpa.org and click on the “Exemptions” tab in the left banner.  Then proceed by clicking on the “Exemptions” tab in the drop down.  Here you will find information regarding a variety of exemptions for which you may be eligible. The Santa Rosa County, Florida Property Appraiser’s office distinguishes itself by providing cutting-edge, online services to enhance the efficiency of this office and the effectiveness of services, thus exceeding the requirements of our constituents.
